Mellifluous, our Word of the Week for Verandah Magazine from our friends at AUM PR is a soothing flowing word which means exactly that.  It has its origins in Late Latin from mellifluus, equivalent to Latin melli – literally the stem of mel which is honey, plus flu – to flow.  Miel is also French for honey also with the same derivation, and from Late Latin, mellifluous spread, as smooth as honey itself into Middle English. So early, middle or late, it all comes down to something flowing as smoothly as honey…
