The sight of so many thousands of people walking through Lismore streets filled me with pride. It also sent a message to politicians and gas mining companies – don’t mess with us! We, the people of the NR, will be here for however long it takes to get rid of this industry from our region.

They came in their thousands from near and far last weekend to protest against Coal Seam Gas – it was a day of protest, but also a day of community pride, laughter and music as the parade wound its way through the centre of town.
