V-Day Byron Bay style

For the third year in a row Sonia Friedrich went to V-Day 1 Billion Rising  in Byron Bay, and as she says: “It’s no coincidence that this occurs on Valentine’s Day.  Each time I’ve attended this event I’ve been moved by the respect and women have for each other as we honour the fact that one in three women will be abused at some point in their life.” For Friedrich it’s a time to reconnect with her female power, and, as she says: “My ability to say ‘no’ to anything that I do not wish to do, and a time to remember all women who have been abused, and set the intention for love toward all women across the globe.”  For Friedrich it is also a time to remember and honour the indigenous women and girls who trod this ground before her.  Friedrich snapped these photos on her – Samsung mobile phone.
