Alex Clarke nabbed Verandah Magazine’s Shot of the Week, which officially marks the beginning of the festive season, with this great photo of Lismore’s quirky Christmas tree, made entirely from old bikes.

The tree was created by Council’s executive committee, which decided Council should give the Lismore community a gift for Christmas. The new tree is made from old bikes, which would otherwise have ended up as scrap metal. The Council welded the bikes onto the steel frame at the Council metal shop and the structure was then painted by Council staff and their families, in their own time.
