Photographer Alex Clarke and his partner Jasmine have a family tradition for the Queens birthday long weekend.  “We love to head out west for a night or two,” he says, of Verandah Magazine’s Shot of the Week.  “The Tablelands have a very different climate to the coastal plain, and it’ss refreshing to immerse yourself in the chill clear air, even if it’s just for a couple of days. The winter light is incredible, and exploring the plains and mountains with a camera is one of my favourite activities. Dusk goes so quickly, but creates a sublime and surreal beauty across the landscape I love.”  Sublime and sureal beauty just about sums up this great Shot of the Week.

This HDR shot was created with a Sony A7II through a Canon 50mm lens at f/4.
