Jo Immig’s Shot of the Week, happened in her garden, when her partner Richard Jones used his garden shoe as a seed scoop.  “He used it to fill up the bird feeders and the red-browed finches seized on the few left inside,” she says. “First one came, then two – and soon the whole shoe was full. They’re such communicative birds. When they’re hungry they line up on a palm frond and beam a collective stare at you as if to say ‘excuse me but where’s the food people’.”
