Enova raises over three million dollars to become the first community owned electricity supplier – right here in the Northern Rivers.

Start up Enova Community Energy Ltd., has passed its minimum capital raise milestone today, with $3,238,000 raised so far, enough for Enova to commence retail operations and make Australian history by being the first community owned electricity supplier.

“But there is still time to be a part of this important history, the final close is 5pm (AEST) 17 December 2015. Every share purchased is important for Enova to have a strong foundation to strengthen its success,”  says Alison Crook AO, Enova’s Chair.

Enova also reached another important goal of having majority ownership by the Northern Rivers community members, with nearly 75% of the total of 857 applicants coming from the local community. “This indicates the high level of local support from the local community, making us determined to take control of our renewable energy future, providing local jobs, enabling new technologies and community benefit projects across the Northern Rivers Region,” says Ms Crook.

And in recognition of Enova’s importance on a national scale, the remaining 25% of share applicants have come from every state and territory in Australia.  Once Enova’s model is proven the company is looking forward to working with like-minded communities across Australia.

This is the final chance to apply for shares: If you want to be part of history visit Enovaenergy.com.au to apply online.
